A psychiatrist is a medical doctor with specialization in mental health and can/shall prescribe medicine for mental health problems.
i} A counselor usually deals with day to day life issues, low to medium/mild anxiety/depression etc. He/she can also support clients who are undergoing treatment for serious mental problems with psychiatrist. ii} A Psychiatrist treats serious mental health problems with medicine. He/she sometimes gets assistance/support from a counselor/psychologist in such a treatment so that client can come out of the problem in a better way and early.
